Vertron Refrigerant R-407C
Refrigerant R-407C, also known as Vertron or Westron 407C, is a non-ozone depleting blend of three hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants. It is non-toxic and non-flammable. It was developed for residential and commercial air-conditioning applications.
The components of R-407C are as follows:
- Difluoromethane (R-32), weight percentage: 23%
- Pentafluoro ethane (R-125), weight percentage: 25%
- 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane (R-134a), weight percentage: 52%
R-407C exhibits performance characteristics similar to R-22. It can replace R-22 and can also be used as a retrofit refrigerant with R-22. It is designed for use in new equipment and as a service refrigerant for existing HCFC-22 air conditioning, heat pump, and medium-temperature refrigeration equipment.
