Description
Pet Bottle
A PET bottle is a type of plastic bottle made from a material called Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET or PETE), which is a member of the polyester family of polymers. Here are some key characteristics of PET bottles:
- Material: PET is produced by the polymerization of ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid. It’s a strong, stiff synthetic fiber and resin.
- Properties: PET bottles are globally recognized as safe, non-toxic, strong, lightweight, flexible, and 100% recyclable. They have a density of around 1.4 g/cm3, making them lightweight and easy to handle.
- Appearance: PET bottles are generally clear or translucent, which allows for the contents of the bottle to be seen.
- Rigidity: PET bottles are known for their rigidity, which helps to maintain the shape of the bottle and prevent crushing or deformatio.
- Uses: PET is spun into fibers for permanent-press fabrics, blow-molded into disposable beverage bottles, and extruded into photographic film and magnetic recording tape. They are widely used in the packaging of carbonated drinks, medicine bottles, bottled water, condiments, cosmetics, nuts, candy, and other products.
- Heat Resistance: PET bottle is heat resistant to 70℃, so it is not suitable for hot filling, only for warm drinks or frozen drinks.
